Over a three-week period this Summer LED Supply & Fit products including more than 900 LED fittings ranging from emergency lights to LED panels and floodlights to wall lights were installed by G&B Electrical Contractors of Newton Aycliffe throughout the college and its nursery, including in the reception and performing arts areas.

Not only will the new LED lighting offer more natural-looking light than the usual yellow sodium light, but energy-saving LED panels use just half the wattage of traditional lighting, and while fluorescent lights might last between three and 15 thousand hours, the LED equivalent will give 50 thousand-plus hours. Combined, these factors make LED lower maintenance, cheaper to run and more energy-saving than traditional lighting.
