LED Installation at The LAB, Darlington

We are proud to sponsor The LAB, a popular fitness and training facility in Darlington. As part of our ongoing partnership, we completed a full LED lighting upgrade throughout the gym to provide brighter, more efficient, and longer-lasting illumination for members and staff alike.

Our Task

The primary goal of this project was to enhance the overall lighting quality within the gym and changing areas. Many of the existing 6ft fluorescent tubes were no longer working, and several fittings had become faulty, resulting in uneven light levels and higher maintenance costs.

Our team replaced the outdated fittings with modern LED alternatives, ensuring the lighting was both functional and visually appealing. The new LED battens were chosen for their excellent light output and durability – ideal for a busy fitness environment where reliability and energy efficiency are key.

Energy and Cost Savings

Before the upgrade, the fluorescent lighting cost approximately £35 per month (£420 per year) to run. After the LED installation, the cost was reduced to just £6.24 per month (£74.88 per year), generating annual savings of £345 and reducing energy usage by more than 80%.
